Privacy notice

What we hold

Your email address, which is how you sign in. A name you chose, and a city if you choose to type one — it is never guessed from your address, and there is no map of where readers are. Which scenes you have opened and where you stopped, so the book follows you between devices. The lines you kept and any notes on them. Messages you send another reader in +1 Connect, which only the two of you can read. What you say to Sophus and what he answers, so the conversation can carry on. A review, if you write one. If you arrived through a friend's invitation link, a small cookie remembers whose link it was for thirty days, so they can be thanked when you start reading; it holds nothing about you. Visits are counted by where they came from and whether the page stayed open ten seconds, with no cookie and nothing that identifies anyone. And, kept only as the most recent and overwritten on every visit, the internet address and the browser your last visit came from. Nothing else.

What we never hold

Your card. There is no card field anywhere on this site. Stripe takes the payment on Stripe's own page and tells us only that it happened, and the email address you gave it. We could not show you your card number if you asked.

No password, because there are none. Signing in is a six-digit code sent to your address, which is stored hashed and dies after one use.

What we do with it

We run the site with it. We do not sell it and we do not rent it. It goes to four services, each only for what it does:

Stripe, for payments.

A mail provider, for the letters this site sends.

Anthropic, whose AI writes Sophus's answers and the replies of the book's companions on the wheel. What you write to them, with the passage of the book it is about, is sent so the reply can be written. Your email address is never sent.

Meta, only while advertising cookies are on for you (see Your privacy choices, below). When you pay, Meta is told that a purchase happened and for how much, with your email address scrambled (hashed) so it cannot be read — so it can tell which advertisement brought you. While they are off, it is never told.

What is measured

Which pages are opened and which buttons are pressed, so we know whether the site works. That counting runs for everybody, through Google Analytics, with the address shortened before it is stored and every advertising signal switched off — it is counted, not followed, and no profile is built about you.

The advertising cookies are Meta's and Google's, which can tell us which advertisement brought you here. In the UK, Europe, Canada and Brazil a banner asks first, and none is set unless you say yes. Everywhere else they are on from your first visit, unless your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Wherever you are, you can turn them off below, and then not one of them is set and the analytics storage is denied with them.

Getting it back, or getting rid of it

Write to support@salssky.com and ask for a copy or for deletion. Deletion removes the account, the kept lines, the notes and the messages. Records of payments are kept as long as the law requires and no longer.
