A line from SalsSky: The Chosen One
The cloth resisted, sweat-tightened and stubborn, and he tore it loose anyway.
On tearing loose what holds you in the dark
He is blindfolded on the edge of something vast. No ground he can trust. No direction. Only the dark pressing in and a panic he never agreed to feel. Then something shifts. A warmth finds his face. A presence he cannot name. And his hands move before his mind can stop them. He does not carefully undo the knot. He tears it. The cloth is sweat-tightened and stubborn, and he tears it loose anyway. This is what the moment notices: that sometimes the thing keeping you blind is also the thing you have been holding together very carefully. And that the body, when it finally feels something real moving toward it, does not wait for permission. It acts. You may know this feeling. A grip you have kept tight for so long that releasing it feels like falling. Something you have held in place because letting go seemed more dangerous than staying blind. The warmth was already there before he reached for the knot. What has been moving toward you that you have not yet let yourself feel?
