A line from SalsSky: The Chosen One
A current touched his face — light, deliberate, nothing like the cold wind that had ruled the mountain until now.
On feeling something meet you in the dark
Sals has lost everything he was using to stay safe. His stick is gone. His foot is caught. The dark behind the blindfold is total. He is completely without reference. Then, in that exact place of having nothing left to hold, something arrives. Not a rescue. Not a sign telling him what to do. Just a current of air, warm and deliberate, carrying a faint trace of something that has traveled a long way to reach him. The emptiness, the passage notices, admits it was not entirely empty. He did not find this. It came while he was still.
Most of us know a version of that edge. The moment when the thing we relied on is gone and there is nothing left to grip. It can feel like only danger lives there. But sometimes, in that stripped-down stillness, something quiet reaches us. Not loud. Not certain. Just present in a way we did not expect.
What have you felt arrive in a moment when you had run out of ways to hold yourself together?
Pass it on
