A line from SalsSky: The Chosen One
You’ve never once used it to become something you weren’t already.
On being what you already are
Luis is in the middle of a farewell, carrying a weight he has long mistaken for a flaw. He has spent years watching someone else wield the same inherited force as a weapon, and the comparison has left him feeling lesser. Then Sals says something quiet and exact. He notices that Luis has never shaped himself into something foreign to earn power or approval. The strength Luis carries has always moved within the outline of who he actually is. That is not a failure of imagination. It is a kind of honesty most people spend a lifetime trying to find their way back to.
It is easy to look at what you have not done with what you were given and call that smallness. But there is a difference between holding back and holding true. Some people spend years performing versions of themselves that bear no resemblance to the person underneath. You may never have done that. You may have stayed close to something real without knowing it had a name.
What if the thing you have been calling your limitation is actually the shape of your integrity?
Pass it on
