A line from SalsSky: The Chosen One
Ceiling above him, walls intact, no ledge, no fall, no proof any of it had happened except the sound his own heart was still making.
On waking and still carrying something true
He tears off the blindfold. Light comes before he is ready for it. Then the mountain is gone and the ceiling is there, solid and ordinary. He is in his bed. Nothing happened, by most measures. No ledge. No fall. No witness. Only his heartbeat, still loud, still insisting the experience was real.
The line sits with a quiet tension. The room offers proof of safety. The body offers proof of something else. He names it a dream, hoping the word will settle things. It does not quite work. Something underneath the fear stays put.
You have probably had a moment like this. Not necessarily on a mountain or in a dream. A conversation ends, a door closes, and the ordinary world resumes around you. You tell yourself a tidy version of what just happened. But part of you already knows the tidy version is not the whole truth. The body keeps its own record.
Nothing here asks you to decide what that record means. Only to notice that it exists.
What is something your body has held onto that your words have not yet caught up to?
Pass it on
